I'm hooked on The Prisoner. For those of you not familiar, The Prisoner is a British television show from the late 60s.
How did I become hooked on this show? There I was talking to Max discussing the recent deaths of famous people when the name Patrick McGoohan came up. McGoohan played the lead role in The Prisoner. (More recently, he played King Edward Longshanks in Braveheart.)
Anyway, I can't believe more people don't talk about or reference this show. After watching the first episode (Max has the DVD box set), it is abundantly clear that many new shows and movies have borrowed or been influenced by this show. Heck, nearly the entire premise of Lost is taken from The Prisoner.
